Shefali Jariwala, widely remembered as the “ Kaanta Laga” girl and a beloved contestant on Big Boss 13, passed away on June 27, 2025, at the age of 42. Her sudden death has left fans and the entertainment industry in deep shock.
According to reports, Shefali suffered a cardiac arrest at her residence in Mumbai. She was rushed to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital by her husband, actor Parag Tyagi, and close family members, but was declared dead on arrival. Her body was later transferred to Cooper Hospital for post-mortem, as per standard protocol for sudden deaths.
Initial investigation suggests that Shefali had kept a fast for Satyanarayan pooja earlier that day and consumed refrigerated food afterward. A preliminary report from Amboli Police indicated that a sudden drop in blood pressure may have contributed to her collapse. Her close friend, Pooja Ghai, also revealed that Shefali had taken a Vitamin C IV drip earlier that day, a common wellness practice in the entertainment industry.
Shefali’s passing has drawn tributes from across the industry. Mika Singh, Aly Goni, Divyanka Tripathi, and Shehnaaz Gill were among those who expressed their grief publicly. Her husband, Prag Tyagi, was seen visibly distraught during the final rites, asking the public to pray for his “Pari”.
Shefali rose to fame in the early 2000s with her breakout appearance in the remix video “ Kaanta Laga”. She later appeared in films like Mujse Shaadi Karogi and reality shows including Nach Baliye and Big Boss 13. Her composed presence and candid personality earned her a loyal fan base.
As of now, the official post-mortem report is pending, and authorities have ruled out foul play. The entertainment world continues to mourn the loss of a vibrant artist whose legacy spans music, television, and heartfelt connection with audiences.
